Dr. J. Theodore Brown Jr., Ph.D., H.S.P.P. is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist providing expert psychological services to attorneys, courts, governmental agencies, and organizations nationwide.
His forensic psychology practice focuses on independent evaluation, expert consultation, and professional testimony in legal and administrative matters.
These forensic services are separate from psychotherapy or clinical treatment and are conducted exclusively for legal, court, and expert-witness purposes.
Forensic Retainers
Non-Urgency Retainer (based on case complexity):
$2,500 – $5,000
Urgency Service Retainer:
$5,000
Urgent forensic matters include expedited psychological evaluations, accelerated forensic reports, emergency legal consultations, and time-sensitive court proceedings.
Forensic Psychology Hourly Fees
Forensic Interview, Psychological Evaluation, Testing, and Written Forensic Report:
$300 per hour
Expert Witness Testimony, Deposition, Court Appearance, or In-Person Testimony (including Telehealth):
$500 per hour
Legal Consultation for Attorneys and Law Firms:
$350 per hour
Forensic Record Review and Analysis:
$300 per hour
Travel Expenses
Travel-related costs are billed separately from professional forensic services.
- Automobile Travel: $1.00 per mile

Food, Lodging, and Related Expenses: Billed as incurred
Billing, Retainers, and Payment
- A retainer is required prior to the commencement of forensic psychological services.
- Hourly forensic billing is applied against the retainer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Additional invoices may be issued if services exceed the initial retainer amount.
- Credit card payments are accepted for retainers and invoices.
